Changeable templates | If you change your website's design, every AU-created
page will change with it with configurable templates |
Webbased Configuration | You will never need to log onto FTP to change AU's
settings. |
Content Placement | YOU control where the content goes. If you'd like to have
your uploaded images above your content or perhaps display the
author's name else where on the page, you are in full control. You can
place any element of the output anywhere you want without programming
experience |
Multiple User Levels | You will no longer need to share ONE password with all
of your
writers, every writer will be assigned their own username
and password. PLUS, the 'super-admin' (that'd be you) can
assign privileges to each person (ex. user A can write
reviews, but not news, and he can't upload images) that
the script will keep track of. If have the time, I may add
a statistics page that calculates the number and types of
articles that each user has written with information on each one. |
Enhanced Upload Capabilities | You can now upload images while or before you
write
the article. Plus, you can delete, edit, and possibly
add images to your articles even after they are submitted |
Faster Database | Autoupdater will be based on a DBM database rather than
flat
file text databases. |
Upgradeable | I will try to create a 'library' of AU's functions so that
upgrading your script simply means downloading a component
and placing it in your cgi-bin. (for all your mySQL-lovers
out there, I'll probably create a mySQL add-on) |
Article Approval | Your writer(s) will never post false news/reviews again.
You have the option for all articles/reviews to be approved
by you before they go online. |
Auto Post | This is from version 3.2 but its a very popular feature:
Telling the script WHEN to post articles. |
Printer-Friendly Format | This creates printable versions of any page it creates |
Create your own fields | This may not reach v4.0 in time but you will be able
to add your own fields to article writing form (ex. Need a "Price"
field? no problem. Add it in the variable configuration page) |
Archives | Once again, this may not reach v4.0 but you can configure
the script to purge X month old articles from the database
and turn the older articles into HTML files for fast loading. |
